| About Me |
I'm the son of Czech immigrants that escaped from Czechoslovakia just after WWII with their parents. Just like the Von Trapp family from "The Sound of Music" except without the singing.
I was Born in Killeen Texas while my Dad was stationed at Fort Hood. Once he got out of the military we returned to Cicero Il. just outside of Chicago.
I moved to Arkansas just after I graduated from J. Sterling Morton East HS in 1979 and have been in Beebe since then.
I played softball in 79-80 for Saint James Catholic in Searcy and for The Beebe Merchants under coach DJ Bryant from Floyd.
After a 10 year break from softball I was asked to play in the Searcy League for Saint James Catholic again in 1990. I've played Men's and Coed every year since then in various leagues and with weekend teams.
I really want to thank my wife Sharon for letting me play all these years and supporting me in my life long quest to be a kid at heart.
I love playing teams I've never played against before because all my old tired attempts at wit & humor are brand new to them. |

| I made a bobble head pic of a friend of mine and they got really mad so I made one of myself. It's poor photoshop work but it's the only picture I had of myself on my computer. |

Ted Williams - "I told tony that major league history is made on the inside part of the plate, and I know he took that to heart. He told me the next time I saw him that he hit his first career grand slam in Philiadelphia, putting that nice, easy swing of his on an inside pitch and pulling it out of the park." |

John Douglas - Played open ball as a pitcher until he was 72. Quit pitching in open because everyone else was afraid he'd get hurt. Still plays senior ball. Still works like a dog keeping up the Beebe Ballpark which bares his name. In my opinion he should be in the Arkansas Softball Hall of fame. Nice guy. Tremendous competitor.
Tony Facinelli - Tony coached baseball in and around Kensett and Searcy for years. Pitched for St. James Catholic in the 90's at age 80. Later we found out he took Chemo during the day and played at night. He was a light hitter but could run fast at 80. At our post season league tourney in the early 90's in Searcy a 12 year old kid came over from the baseball tourney on the youth fields. He asked Tony if he was coach Facinelli. He was shocked when Tony said "yes". The kids team was from Memphis & his Dad told him that if he saw a very old man at the ballpark it had to be his childhood coach and he should thank him or being Dad's coach. Tony sai |
